Wade Hampton was established in the year 1970. It derived its name from Wade Hampton III (1818–1902). He was Confederate cavalry leader during the American Civil War. Covering an extensive 19,669 square miles of area, it is only home to 7K people with enriched races including White, Asian, African American, Hispanic or Latino of any race, Native American, Pacific Islander and others along with 1,600 households and 1.2K family units. Hooper Bay is the largest city.
